Meet ERC Chairman Dr. Julie Corbett
As Eastside Republican Club chairman, Dr. Julie Corbett not only brings a passion for sound public policy, but a distinguished background in education and communications.
She said she first became involved with the ERC, “in an effort to learn about candidates for public office and state government.”
Corbett, who lives in the City of Grosse Pointe, is a graduate of the University of Kentucky, holds a doctorate in instructional technology from Wayne State University, and served as coordinator of instructional television for the Grosse Pointe Public School System until fall 2001.

She has also served as adjunct faculty at Wayne State University, instructing graduate students in design of curriculum and industrial training materials.
As chair of strategic planning for technology in the Grosse Pointe Public Schools beginning in 1986, Corbett was active in planning and implementing technology throughout the school district. Then from 1987 to 1996 she served as a television teacher, producer, and director of educational productions.
Corbett has served on the boards of Detroit Artist Market, Pewabic Pottery, and National Academy for Television Arts and Sciences. Presently, she serves on the board of the Detroit Film Theatre of the Detroit Institute of Arts, and is a member of a local investment club, Detroit Athletic Club, and Grosse Pointe Hunt Club.
In addition to politics, Corbett enjoys swimming and staying fit. Her two sons live in Cincinnati and Los Angeles.
