Meet ERC Director Jenny Nolan
Jenny Whelan Nolan, Eastside Republican Club treasurer for 2008, reports, “I got interested in the ERC because it had compelling speakers at monthly forums, and they welcomed everyone.” 
The fourth-generation Grosse Pointer explained, “I first became aware of the ERC about five years ago -- I noticed all the good speakers!”
Explaining her philosophy of government, she said, “I believe Republican principles provide better, proven solutions to the problems we confront at the municipal, state and national level.”
Nolan is a graduate of Northwestern University, with Masters degrees in both English and library science. Her schooling led her on a professional path with The New Yorker, Rolling Stone Magazine, and The Detroit News.
Today, Nolan is a realtor with Andrus Sotheby's International Realty with offices in Grosse Pointe Farms.
She and her husband, Mike, live in Grosse Pointe Farms and have five children, Kevin, Brendan, Maggie, Patrick, and Teddy.
In addition to the ERC, Nolan active volunteers her time with other community organizations. She serves on the board of the Grosse Pointe Public Library Foundation and on the Central Library Building Committee.
Nolan is an active alumna of the Grosse Pointe Academy of the Sacred Heart, and belongs to the Detroit Institute of Arts, the Archives of American Art, and the International Visitors Council of Metropolitan Detroit.
Nolan's other interests include a love of travel, especially the woods, rivers and lakes of Northern Michigan.
