Turning Point was 9/11 for Solterisch
At that point in my life, I wanted to take a more active roll in politics and support President Bush in protecting the United States, said Eastside Republican Club secretary, Linda R. Solterisch, about her reaction to the September 11, 2001, attack on America.
Solterisch explained, I, like many Americans, had become complacent and comfortable with all of the liberties and advantages that I enjoyed as a citizen of the U.S.
I had always thought of war as somewhere in a far off land, but when our country was attacked, I was jolted into realizing that nothing is certain, she said.
Solterisch said she has learned that the ERC is a group of concerned citizens active in their community, state, and country.

Thinking back to the first time she visited the ERC she said, I was warmly welcomed by leaders Tom McCleary and Marti Miller. They were instrumental in my becoming a very active member.
In addition to her involvement in civic affairs, she serves as administrative aide at the Secretary of State drivers' license and license plate office in St. Clair Shores.
For recreation she enjoys walking, bike riding, aerobics, and traveling.
Solterisch lives in Grosse Pointe Park with her husband, Ronald. They have three daughters, Nancy and Debbie both married, and Megan who is currently an MSU senior.
Both family and security are very important to Solterisch. We cannot take our way of life for granted. We must support the leaders that will protect our country and way of life for us, as well as for our children and our grandchildren, she said. >>See the entire ERC board.
